Pastor Peter Weems, along with children Laura and Matthew, have returned from vacationing at Nags Head.
United Methodist Homecoming is set for Sept. 15. During the 11 a.m. service and revival Monday night thru Wednesday night, former pastor Rev. Norman Flythe will be guest speaker. The nightly meetings will be held at 7:30 p.m. On Monday night, special music will be provided by Amissville Baptist Choir; Tuesday by Woodland Methodist, and Wednesday, Bonnie Kinzer of Culpeper. You’ll recall she sang at the Ruritan’s Troop Salute Ceremony in May. Everyone loved her.
Emiel and Lynda Smet enjoyed a visit by his mother Mrs. Adrienne Smet of Merksem, Belgium, and his niece Sandra VanOers, also of Merksem, along with Sandra’s fiancee Danny Verlinden of Ekeren, Belgium.
Mrs. Anna Fincham has greatly improved. You may write to her in care of her niece Mrs. Lois Settle, Box 105-A, Amissville, Va. 22002. I miss her weekly calls; she was one of the most faithful to call with news.
Also, Mrs. “Mickey” Stuart is greatly improved and hopes to return to her quarters within a few days. Her address is Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community, P.O. Box 191, Culpeper, Va. 22701.
We were saddened to learn that both Mr. Louis Jenkins and Mr. Lyle Foster remain ill at Fauquier Hospital. Our thoughts and prayers continue with both these outstanding members of our community.
Also, let’s remember Miss Phoebe Greene as she recovers from a broken leg. She very much enjoys having friends in the community drop by to share and put a little more sunshine in her day.
