In other police news this week:
• Janies Harvey, 39, of East Northport, N.Y., was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of marijuana after a traffic stop on U.S. 211 at 4 p.m. Aug. 24, according to Sgt. G.A. Morris of the State Police.
Harvey was operating a 1985 Jeep near the intersection of Route 627 when he was pulled over on suspicion of DUI by Trooper S.M. Knick, according to Sgt. Morris.
A search of the vehicle revealed marijuana, and Harvey was arrested, said Sgt. Morris.
• An Amissville man was charged with possession of a concealed weapon and drunk in public by Trooper G.T. Settle at 10:30 p.m. Aug. 24, according to Sgt. Morris.
Everett Smith Jr., 30, of Amissville, was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by Trooper Settle on suspicion of drunk driving, said Sgt. Morris.
A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded, .32-caliber automatic weapon in the space between the seats. The weapon allegedly belongs to Smith, said Sgt. Morris.
The driver was also arrested, for drunk driving.
