tt the Library: ‘Best of Al Worlds’

"The Best of All Worlds: Making a Living in Rappahannock County," the latest installment in the Library's First Friday lecture series, will be presented in cooperation with the Rappahannock Farmers' Association at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6.

The program will address the experiences of county farmers Miriam Harris, Al Kellert, Jim Massie Jr. and Alex Sharp.

Refreshments are available and babysitting can be arranged in advance by calling 675-3780.

The lecture is free and open to the public, as with all Library programs.

Fire Department hosts dinner

The Washington Volunteer Fire Department will hold a Colonial Christmas Dinner, 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. The cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children.

The menu includes Cornish game hens, green beans with mushrooms, wild rice with almonds, homemade rolls and butter, pumpkin pie and tea and coffee.
