Spaghetti dinner
A spaghetti dinner will be held beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Flint Hill fire hall. The menu will consist of homemade spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, drinks and dessert. Cost will be $6 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under. The dinner is sponsored by the Flint Hill United Methodist Church and will benefit the organ fund. The Shorb Brothers will also present their Christmas concert at the dinner. /
Buffet breakfast
The Washington Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a buffet breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21. The menu will cdhsist of sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy, pancakes, hash browns, baked apples, coffee, juice, hot chocolate. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. Santa will be in attendance also.
Food drive underway
A Christmas food drive has been organized at Rappahannock Elementary School in an attempt to help children realize that giving can be as rewarding as receiving. Participation is voluntary. Collection dates are from Dec. 2-20 in the lobby of Rappahannock Elementary before and after school. For more information call Miss Wolf or Mrs. Lamma at 987-8259.
Benefit bake sale
The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) will sponsor a bake sale at the Colonal Christmas festivities this weekend at the town hall beginning at 11 a.m. “Come and enjoy baked goods while watching the Colonial dancers,” said a spokesperson. All proceeds will benefit the PTO.
Shepherd's play
Ki Theater will present the Shepherd’s Play, a medieval musical drama, as part of Washington, Virginia’s Colonial Christmas. Local actors, actresses, singers and musicians will perform at 5 p.m. and £ p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 and at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, at Ki Theater on Gay Street. Tickets ($4 for adults and $2 for children) may be purchased in advance at Mountainside Market and The Country Cafe in Washington, the New Leaf Bookstore in Warrenton, the Royal Oak Bookstore in Front Royal, at Culpeper Music in Culpeper, or at the door.
