Russians to invade Theatre
The Russians are coming to Washington, Va. New Year's Day.
The Yale Russian Chorus, an a capella singing group that has toured the Soviet Union and Europe 12 times, boasts a repertoire of thousand-year-old Russian Orthodox Church hymns, folk songs, opera choruses and soldiers' songs.
The 20-member chorus will perform at 4 p.m. Jan. 1 in The Theatre at Washington, Va.
Advance reservations are suggested for the performance. Tickets are $8 general admission, $5 for students and seniors.

Woodsmoke hosts performers
Playing at the Woodsmoke Cafe in Sperryville this weekend are jay Keating with "heavy meadow" original folk music Friday, Dec. 6 and Moses Gentry with country blues, Saturday, Dec. 7.
The Woodsmoke is located on Main Street in Sperryville.
Quitters hold color class
The Rappahannock Extension Homemakers will hold a quilting class on color coordination in quiltmaking, 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10 at the Extension Office on Gay Street in Washington, Va.
Carol Inskeep of Culpeper is the instructor.
