PUBLIC HEARING:
CABLE TELEVISION FRANCHISE The Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County and the Town Council of Washington hereby give notice that on Monday, December 16, 1991, at 7:00 p.m. at the Courthouse in Washington, Virginia, there shall be held a joint public hearing to consider the adoption by both bodies of a non-exclusive Cable Television franchise. The franchise allows the franchisee, Central Virginia Cable (Adelphia Cable Communications) to provide cable television service in Rappahannock County and the Town of Washington, defines the initial service area, provides for a timetable for installation and sets conditions for expansion into areas initially unserved. In addition, the franchisee is regulated (to the extent allowed under State and Federal Law) and a 3.5% gross revenues surcharge is imposed. The Hearing is being held in accordance with the Cable Television Ordinances of Rappahannock County and Town Of Washington, and in compliance with §15.1-23.1 of the Code of Virginia, 47 USC Section 521 et seq. and 47 CFR Part 76.
An interested persons are invited to attend and to make comment. A complete copy of the proposed franchise agreement is available for inspection Monday through Friday 8:30-4:30 p.m. at the County Administration Office, located in the Old Extension Office on Gay Street in the Town of Washington.
