Circuit Court Judge Shore Rob-, ertson will make appointments to: the Board of Equalization at the January term date. Mr. Gilkey said thejudge would consider recommendation from the supervisors and any other interested candidates. He sug- : gested his fellow supervisors bring recommendations for that board, which will hear appeals from those not satisfied with their assessments, to the January supervisors meeting.

Several students from Wakefield, School in Marshall competed at the. state kick-off Certamen hold, alt Thomas Dale School in Chester, V^., recently. *
The Latin I experienced team* placed second in competition against 12 other teams. Jody Waldron of! Rectortown was team captain; othe£ team members included Molly Chase and Trevor Herndon of Warrenton* and Amy Lightcap of Front Royal.
The Latin I inexperienced team', placed fourth out of 14 teams com-* peting. Team members were captain* Alex Kelly of Castleton, Jed Davies' of Warrenton Van DeBergh of Washington, Va. and Anne Wadlow ‘ of The Plains. *
