Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” is a holiday classic that has entertained audiences for years. This season, Moving Arts Inc. will present Ballet Theatre Pennsylvania in the nostalgic Christmas ballet set for 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Dec. 7 in the auditorium at Fauquier High School.
Ballet Theatre Pennsylvania, under the artistic direction of Mary Hepner, features many talented professional dancers. Two-time Emmy Award-winning lighting designer Terry Wuthrich will add an array of color and light to the show.
The show has a local twist as 40 area children from ages five to 12 will dance in several scenes. They are under the direction of local dance instructor-choreographer Susan Underwood-Shelton.
“ The Nutcracker* is a classic and is the most appealing ballet for a wide audience,” said Broni Lambelet of Moving Arts Inc. “It has become the hallmark of the season.”
