The Rappahannock High varsity volleyball team’s storybook season came to an end during its first-ever appearance in Bull Run District Tournament Saturday.
Page County, which has won the state title three years running, beat the Panthers in straight games, 16-8,15-8.
But that was the third game of the week for Rappahannock, which won the other two to end the season at 11-6, 4-4 in the Bull Run District. The eleven wins broke last season’s record of eight.
On Parent’s Night last Wednesday, the varsity team overwhelmed the Brentsville Tigers, 16-1, 15-0 in the most one-sided win of the year. “It was perfect for Parent’s Night,” said Coach Paul Paratore. "The girls couldn’t do anything wrong.”
