Still, the season was marked more by successes than by the finalgame loss, said the coach. In addition to making the playoffs and winning 11 games, both school records, the Panthers also placed two players on the All-Bull Run Second Team: junior spiker Lori Paratore and senior spiker Heather Coffey.
“It was a giant step for the girls and the program,” said the coach. Only three players are graduating: Coffey, exchange student Kelly Cunningham and Melissa Alther.
“I think we have a really good group coming back next year, I really do,” said Coach Paratore.
The JV volleyball team ended its season against Brentsville on Parent’s Night with it second win of the year, 15-6, 9-15, 15-13. Coach Paratore played most of the bench in the second game before putting the starters back in for the third and decisive contest.
“It was a good way to end the year. They’re looking forward to next year,” he said.
The coach also thanked the JV and varsity parents’ support this year. More so than. last year, he said, they were attending games and making sacrifices to ensure the girls’ attendance at practices.
