The Rappahannock County Library and Cabin Fever Books in Washington have joined in a cooperative effort to bring new books, especially children’s books, to the new library.
In recognition of ongoing donation efforts and the new Give-aBook-a-Month drive, Cabin Fever Books is offering a 20 percent discount on volumes purchased for donation to the library. The program, begun the first week of February, has already brought a good response.
Bookstore owners Susan Parrish, Vinnie Carney, and Sharon Pierce, working with head librarian Nicki Lynch and assistant librarian Elizabeth Jones, have instituted a program in which interested donors may give a book purchased at a discount from the local bookstore to add to library collection. The Give-aBook-a-Month effort is designed to allow individuals or groups to spread a donation over the course of a year. The emphasis of the drive is on children’s books, but the discount extends to all volumes donated to the library.
