The community is proud of Paul Poling, former fire chief, Amissville Volunteer Fire Company. On Saturday, Feb. 8, he received the International Fire Chief Association's “Chief Robert Little Jr. Humanitarin Award” at* the Virginia State Fire Chiefs conference in Hampton.
Mr. Poling was oi|e of 17 nominees intemationallw^HSxk the first Virginian to recerrethis prestigious award. He has truly dedicated his life to serving others.
He was a volunteer firemen for over 50 years; he has been a member of several state-wide and county advisory boards. Active in the United Methodist Church, he has been a Sunday School teacher for over 20 years.
