Four VCRs were stolen from Rappahannock High School during the night of Feb. 14-15, according to Sheriff John H. Woodward.
He said no method of entering the building was discovered, so the burglar or burglars may have hid inside after the Friday night boys basketball game.
Three Panasonic brand and one Quasar brand VCR were stolen. They were all valued between $325 and $610.
The theft was discovered by a maintenance worker Saturday morning.
Rappahannock High Principal John Toth said that some panes of glass were broken out and there was other “negligible” damage.
In other police and court activity this week:
• Jonathan Johnson, 37, of Culpeper, was found guilty Feb. 12 in Rappahannock Circuit Court of driving after having been declared a habitual offender.
A jury convicted Johnson and sentenced him to two years in the state prison.
• Valerie Anne Clarke. 30. of Flint Hill was charged with reckless driving after a single-vehicle accident at the intersection of routes 628 and 629 at about 10:10 p.m. Feb. 15, according to Sgt. D.S. Adams of the State Police.
Operating a 1983 Subaru station wagon, Clarke lost control going around a curve, went off the left side of the road and her car turned over, said Sgt. Adams.
Damage to the Subaru was estimated at $2,000. Trooper G.T. Settle investigated.
There were no injuries.
• A Culpeper man was charged with possession of marijuana after a traffic stop on U.S. 211, one-tenth of a mile west of Route 645, at 5:10 p.m. Feb. 12, according to Sgt. Adams.
