Susan Cooney: The farm trainer for George Ohrstrom’s Rockbum and Whitewood Farms in The Plains, Susan Cooney promises that she will have several exciting young entries this spring. Four 4-yearolds, all Ohrstrom homebreds, are in training for the early season. Cooney’s own Fill My Card, a flat winner this summer at Garden State Park, will debut over timber, possibly in the owner-rider division with husband Patrick Cooney aboard.

Jimmy Day: The Berryville Irishman said that he has an inspiring group this year. For Milton Ritzenberg, Day will send out Explosive Madam, winner in her first start over hurdles.

He said that his most exciting trainee is likely the 4year-old, Wise One. The Smarten gelding ran a few times last fall for owner Dennis Vaughn, placing second in the rich 3-year-old chase at the International Gold Cup.
