Each sanctioned event is set up as a fundraiser for a philanthropic cause. The season finale will benefit the Georgetown University Medical Center. The Strawberry Hill Races in Richmond will benefit the Historic Richmond Foundation, while the Virginia Gold Cup proceeds will go for year-round use of Great Meadow by non-profit community groups.

The 1992 season opens with the Casanova Hunt Point-toPoint at Mount Sterling Farm outside of Warrenton, as it has for years. The gently rolling course offers a great way to initiate horses and riders to the times ahead. The season continues every weekend, sometimes with races held both Saturday and Sunday, until May 17 at the Georgetown Races at Morven Park, Leesburg. New this year will be the Old Tavern Races at Great Meadow June 14 featuring a diverse card of flat races plus a three-mile timber race.
