At last week’s Washington Town Council meeting, Ed Barton made a report on what he had found out about a sewer system for the town.
He and Brad Fisher had been working on the project. He said that two engineers had done a feasability study and that they established that a number of septic fields were failing. He said that they recommended a system that would fit the town, and it would be easy to put in a gravity feed sewer system. The system would have a grinder that would grind effluent to a powder; and that would be pumped out when the tank got full. It would be pumped to a treatment plant at a lower elevation than the town, and Mr. Barton said that would possibly be across U.S. 211. He said the water would be potable and would be disposed of in the Rush River. The engineers could not give him a definite cost for this, but agreed the cost might be $3 million.
Mayor Willis said that Mr. Barton and Diane Bruce are on the committee for the sewer system, and that he will ask Brad Fisher to join them. He said, “I will be on it too and I would like Steve Critzer to be on it too. I would like us to
