The Madison County Garden Club will present a Christmas standard Home Flower Show at the historic Governor James Lawson Kemper Residence on Main Street in Madison Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 3 and 4. The event corresponds with the town of Madison’s weekend “Christmas on the Corner” celebration in downtown Madison.
The Kemper residence, a Greek Revival-style home, was built about 1852. It was purchased by the Madison County Board of Supervisors in 1977, and leased to the Madison Heritage Foundation in 1989 for 40 years. With the aid of several grants and a host of volunteers, the home „ has been authentically restored by the Heritage Foundation. During the Garden Club Flower Show the entire home will be open to the public.
