Few tickets remain for “Frogs, Toads, 'Coons and Cows,” an evening of theatre and dance monologues, to be presented by Joyce Abell and Sharon Wyrriek at Ki Theatre in Washington at« p.m. this Friday. Each will be performing a new' piece.
This will be Mrs. Abell’s fourth performance in the county. Her first >tage experience in Rappahannock was in the Shepherd’s Play at Ki Theatre in 1991. and she received rave reviews. She had intended to try out for a part playing a recorder in the play, and ended up reading a part. Director Julie Portman told her excitedly, “You are going to be in this play!" -
Mrs. Abell then went on to play the devil in the “Three Kings” play at Ki Theatre last December. During Open Theatre at Ki last April, she performed “Rupert’s Birthday”, a monologue written by playwright Ken Jenkins. “Rupert’s Birthday” will again be performed this Friday night, along with “Elderberries,” which was also written by Ken Jenkins.
Mrs. Abell said that even though she lived many years in the midwest, west, and New England, she has always been attracted to southern literature, especially about small towns. Both of her monologues are
