Conard Woodard
Conard Nelson Preacher Woodarid, 74, of Luray died Friday, Nov. 4 at the Washington, D.C. Veterans Administration Center. . He was bom Oct. 1, 1920, in Sperryville, son of the late Jackson and" Minnie Clatterbuck Woodard.
Mr. Woodard was a retired painter for Luray Caverns ans worked as a cook for ARA Virginia Sky-Line Company for 35 years.
He served in the U.S. Navy durirtg'World War II and was a member of Lurav Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 62L
He is survived by his wife, M. Connie Hockman Woodard, whom he married Oct. 8, 1946.
Survivors, besides his wife, inchlde a son, the Rev. John Woodard of Salisbury, N.C.; a daughter, Ann Woodard of Luray; a stepdaughter. Pat Siciloff of Newport News and twd two grandchildren, Ashley Woodard of Salisbury and Steven Siceloff of Newport News.
Also surviving are five brothers. / Edward Woodard of Norfolk, Robie Woodard of Maryland, Floyd Woodard of Florida, Silas Woodard of Locust Grove and Mack Woodard of Montpelier Station; three sisters, Dorothy Frye of Sperryville. Pearl Pallett of Virginia Beach and Sarah Davis of Florida.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday, Nov. 7 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Luray by the KeC
