Hughes River
Bridge Work
, Scheduled Work on replacing the Route 231 bridge over the Hughes River on the Madison and Rappahannock county line near Peola Mills is scheduled to begin in early December. The new bridge will be constructed in two phases. This will permit maintaining traffic across the river using one lane of the existing bridge until the first half of the new bridge is completed. Traffic will be controlled by traffic signals at both ends of the structure.
