The ToWer Again

There is a strong possibility a tower will be put up behind the Rappahannock Farmers’ Co-op which will serve the needs of Cellular One, the Sheriff s Department dispatch center the the Co-op itself. If this comes to pass the sheriff will keep his current tower in town for emergency backup.

This is a much better location for a 250-foot high tower than the one proposed for the Town of Washington. It will be somewhat screened from public view by the Co-op building itself. It will be located on commercially zoned land, and it can also serve the needs of the Co-op which dispatches its own trucks to spread lime and fertilizers.

The Co-op’s board of directors has to approve an agreement with Cellular One. A vote on this is set for late this month. Everyone involved deserves the; county’s thanks for finding a sensible solution to the problem of location for the tower.

"..so Dorothy. uh..where's the RIO tower of Oz? I mean.

I don’t see anything very impressive down there!"
