Rosalie Hilda Addlesberger and Gibson Lee Wharton were united in marriage on Oct. 8. The candlelight ceremony was held at 11 a.m. at Antrirft Assembly of God Church with Rev. Arnold Gooden, Rev. Arvind ITSilva and Rev. John Lacount, pastor of the church, officiating.
The bride is the daughter of the late Merle and Lillian Addlesberger of Waynesboro, Pa.
The groom is the son of the late Gilbert and Mamie Wharton of Washington.
Organist was El wood Payne of Chambersburg, Pa. who also provided songs.
Songs were also provided by the bride’s four sisters, Mrs. Betty Negley, Mrs. Mary Meyers, Mrs. Victoria Eshelman and Mrs. Armatha Skaggs.'
Given in marriage by her brother, Leonard Addlesberger of Greencastle, Pa., the bride wore a gown designed by Jessica McClintock with delicate lace overlaying satin in a high wedding ring collar of Venice lace. The princess bodice featured a basque waistline of lace over satin sleeves. The full lace skirt was trimmed with satin lace and satin bow. Her veil consisted of a lovely cap of white satin roses, with seed pearls and a tier of sheer illusion veiling.
The bride carried a cascading bouquet of fresh white roses accented with baby’s breath.
Matron of honor was Mrs. Betty Negley, sister of the bride, of Chambersburg, Pa. She wore a classic style teal gown featuring a lace Balero style jacket with long tapered sleeves. The taffeta tea length dress in princess styling had a jewel neckline and scalloped bottom edge on the lace jacket. She wore a teal satin bow headpiece accented with baby’s breath and white and red satin roses.
