This fall, Rappahannock gained a new tennis club. Coaches Jean Lillard and Brian Bouffard organized the group into two age categories.
High School participants practice on Thursday at the County Recreational center and the younger members have Wednesday sessions. The team works under national standards and is currently developing rankings and challenge ladders. Official tennis matches begin this winter and will focus on fierce doubles competition. Come out and support your team!
Meanwhile at the high school, environmental activists have been working tirelessly on the Environmental Awareness Club t-shirt fundraiser. There are twenty vibrant designs to choose from this year. Favorites include zebras lost in a bar code, a pondering ape, and a rainbow-colored biosphere. All shirts stress the importance of nature’s harmony and the world’s animals.
