Bulletins Area Code The new 540 area code becomes mandatory at 2 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 27. After that the old 703 area code will no longer work for those exchanges, including all in Rappahannock County, which have been moved into the 540 area code.
Assembly Hotline The General Assembly of Virginia is providing a toll-free Constituent Viewpoint hotline. The hotline will allow citizens to voice their opinions on legislative issues during the session. The number is 1-800-899-0229. Constituent Viewpoint will receive calls from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on each legislative work day through March 9.
