The newly elected board chose John Tole as chairman on a 3 to 2 vote. Mr. Tole, Ron Makela and Dennis Wingfield voted for Mr. Tole. Paul Nichols and Bryant Lee voted for Mr. Nichols. Mr. Nichols was then unanimously elected vice-chairman. Mr. Lee was chosen as the representative to the Carver-Piedmont Technical School board and Mr. Wingfield as the board’s representative to WVPT’s board of directors. Mr. Wingfield said he would be interested in serving on the educational television station’s board if they would let him make a commercial.
The board will continue to meet the second Tuesday of each month with executive sessions to deal with pupil discipline cases on the following Mondays.
