Townspeoples’ property which is encroaching rapges from a few feet of a walkway at the Giles to several encroachments at property belonging to Ms. Eagle on Wheeler Street: a retaining wall, frame gazebo, portion of front porch and several feet of house along Wheeler St. (from onequarter to one-third of the house according to Mr. Reynolds).
Mr. Gooch explained that the encroachments are not a threat to homeowners or a cloud on the title. Some of the town’s properties on the' list sold recently, he said, and their title showed that they had an encroachment. He suggested a committee which could study the problem and come up with an ordinance or other solution to the problem. “What we probably need to do is something uniform,” he said, adding that the encroachments are not unusual or drastic. “I think it is important that no one in town get concerned. All the town wanted to know was where the streets were,” he said.
