At the Water and Sewer Authority meeting last Thursday, Aline Johnson spoke against a proposed rate increase.
She said she is concerned about people on fixed incomes, households with just one person working, and businesses who pay an average of $100 a month for the sewer service. She, said she felt there must be another way for the authority to meet its budget, adding that salary increases and vehicles are nice, but “another rate increase would be detrimental to so many. I urge the board to consider all the facts and all the people.”
