Two local restaurants once again made Washingtonian magazine’s annual list of the “100 Very Best Restaurants.”
Four & Twenty Blackbirds in Flint Hill and The Inn at Little Washington are the restaurants on the list which are the longest distance frorri Washington, D.C.; all the others are in close proximity to the city except for one in Annapolis.
Washingtonian called Four & Twenty Blackbirds a “cozy Rappahannock County restaurant,” adding that “The Sunday brunch is splendid. Try the restaurant’s version of eggs Benedict — local applesmoked trout and poached eggs on dill biscuits with hollandaise sauce and home fries — or its ‘Huevos Blackbirdos,’ poached eggs on a flour tortilla served with black beans, salsa, cheese, sour cream, and home fries.” Take it from this reporter — the Sunday brunch is indeed splendid, ^nd the menu choices are so appealing, creative and numerous that it is difficult to pick just one. So, go with a group of friends, have everybody order something different, and share in a big tasting.
