Dorothy Kuncewitz has been volunteering for years. She started in the old library in Washington and said a perenial problem in the old library is beginning to recur in the new one — finding space for the books. When the library opened in its new building the top and bottom shelves were empty. Now the top shelf is nearly full, and the bottom one is filling up.
Mrs. Kuncewitz was moving books around trying to keep the shelves from becoming too crowded. There is still some space left. “The old library was really chock full,” she said. “It was unique and charming.
