Town attorney Frank Reynolds announced at last week’s Town Council meeting that an agreement with Potomac Edison for street lights in Washington has finally been approved.
Mayor Stewart Willis, Charles Eldred and Mr. Reynolds met with Mr. Bowman from Potomac Edison to finalize the agreement. The agreement, which will pay $8.25 to Potomac Edison monthly for each of the 50 units and seven county units, will be in force for ten years, and Potomac Edison will own the new light fixtures.
Council member Ray Gooch asked Mr. Eldred if he had brought the champagne. Mr. Eldred will be in charge of procuring the new light fixtures. .
Prior to the meeting, Mr. Reynolds, Ray Gooch and surveyoi John Baumgardner Walked the town with Mr. Baumgardner pointing ou all of the encroachments oh,th< town’s streets which he discovered in his town survey.
Mr. Reynolds was quick to point out that the survey was based on the property owners’ surveys. Mr. Gooch said that the Mr. Baumgardner took the survey for each parcel and plotted it and what was left defined the streets of the town.
Several porches, retaining walls, stoops and walkways encroach on the streets, according to the survey.
