Minutes later the teams tied 3-3. Lauren then served up 5 points to give the Panthers a 8-4 lead.
Janice then served an ace and brought the score to 12-8.
At 12-10 Stonewall called a time out. Shortly after that Ashley made another point for her team.
A few minutes later Rapp recovered the ball after a dink by Alice. Stonewall got the ball back though, and soon after Rapp called a time out.
After this Lauren served again. She got the two points Rapp needed to win, one of which was an ace. The final score was 15-11.
Coach Heidi Maier thought that her team did a “great job,” and that it “ won’t take much to get back on a winning track.”
The varsity team lost 15-4 and 1510.
Monday night in a match with Centrol the JV lost 15-1 and then 15-2.
Varsity did a little better but lost 15-3 and 15-4.
Coach Laura Conklin said she thought that both teams were “too slow,” and “took too long to react.” She said she felt that the teams needed to show “more heart and more desire.”
