Both the'varsity and JV boys’ basketball teams lost to Stonewall Jackson in home games Tuesday evening. The scores — 81 -70 for the varsity and 40-34 for JV — were close enough to put victories within reach, but poor shooting cost the Panthers both games.
In the first quarters of both games the Panthers started strong, but then their persistence ebbed.
In the JV game Stonewall had ilowly worked Its way up in points by half time. The second half proved both teams to be evenly matched, in confidence and in skill. There was more passing done in the game than shooting, mostly because of the tight referees who were calling every little move \ an both sides. More points were made
