Two juvenile boys were involved in separate accidents in the county this week.
On Jan. 17 about 6 p.m., a Volvo driven by a 16 year-old boy from Washington was heading west on U.S. 211 when he passed a 1982 Mack concrete truck owned by Crider & Shockey and driven by Michael Lynn Yowell, 43, of Stephens City, on a curve just west of Ben Venue. According to the accident report done by Deputy Chris Williams of the Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office, and reported by Capt. Jeff Brown of the Sheriffs Office, the juvenile drove his vehicle toward the far left side of his lane when he believed the Mack truck had moved into his lane.
The juvenile ran into the edge of the snow bank on the left, losing control of his vehicle, and turned sharply to the right, crossing in front of the Mack truck. He then went over an embankment after hitting some trees on the right side of the road. No injuries were sustained by anyone involved in the accident, and no charges were placed.
