Many locals said they had not seen floods like the one we had last weekend since Hurricane Agnes in 1972.
The community was saddened to learn of the deaths due to flood water last Friday over the Hazel River Bridge on Route 625 near Rixeyville. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of teens Paul and Michelle Burrell, Amy Yancey, and Andre Minifield, 20.

However, we are happy to report that Bob Chandler came home from the hospital last Thursday and Jim Phillips came home on Friday following a three-day stay at Fauquier Hospital.
