After almost a year, the case of Pauline Scroggins ended in Circuit Court this month when she pled guilty on all charges and waived her rights.
Mrs. Scroggins was charged with two counts of forgery and one count of obtaining money by false pretenses.
On Sept. 27, 1996 Mrs. Scroggins, who was at the time employed by John A. Tapp, obtained a check from him for the purpose of purchasing groceries. She filled in the amount of $4,000, cashed it and used the money for herself, said Commonwealth’s Attorney Peter Luke.
