In a somewhat bizarre accident, Roland Michael Williams, 23, of Rappahannock, was seriously injured when a tire popped and hit him in the head.
Mr. Williams was changing the tire at C.W. Auto in Amissville and had not caged the tire to prevent it from moving.
The Rappahannock Sheriff’s Office investigated the accident which occurred about 1:16 p.m. on Aug. 15. Mr. Williams was taken to Fauquier Hospital and immediately airlifted to Fairfax Hospital.
He was in critical condition when he was admitted to Fairfax Hospital and is now in serious but stable condition
