Appalled over
cider issue
I was appalled to read that
the EPA and the USDA are pushing to outlaw apple cider nationwide, and I have a suggestion as to what to do about is and civil disobedience.
Simply inform the federal government (and the media, through press releases) that the apple producers of Rappahannock County will not comply with such a law should it be enacted and that vast numbers of this county’s citizens will stand by them (as I’m sure a petition would demonstrate).
Make a really big stink about it and the government won’t be able to quietly pass and enforce the law.
Mr. Bryant Lee’s common sense remark that “any product you can make carries the potential risk of making someone sick” is right on the mark.
If one is concerned about ecoli exposure from a particular product, then don’t consume it. But don’t support the outlawing of this product
