H.L. Manwaring, deputy director of the conservation and land use policy staff, Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service, Washington, D.C. has been named a fellow of the Soil Conservation Society of America. N A conference of instructors of Warren and Rappahannock Counties is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 25 at the E. Wilson Morrison Elementary School in Front Royal. Practices being carried out under the 1967 Agricultural Conservation Program are helping to improve and conserve soil and water resources on about 200 farms in Rappahannock CQunty, H.S. Barksdale, Chairman, Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee, said today. Apple tree numbers in Virginia have declined less than two percent since 1963, the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Commerce announced Friday.
