He presented the corn-mission with a drawing taken from and aerial map which shows what’s left of mountain top land for development in the county. He told them that he could have an acreage estimate by their work session.
Castleton resident Jim Gannon said, “In May this commission appeared to be on track with a good set of regulations. Since then it seems to have stalled. I hope the commission, now that it has stalled, will not let the issue slip and will not lose sight of its goal.”
Bob Dennis, of Flint Hill, said he had attended the meeting because he heard the issue would be on the agenda. “The ordinance must be crafted so it doesn’t have a lot of legislative ‘takings’ and should not interfere with bonafide forestry or agricultural operations.”
