Lawn party, flea market set
Willis Chapel United Methodist Church in Huntly will host a lawn party and flea market on Saturday, Aug. 30 beginning at 8 a.m. to benefit the restoration of Reager School. “Come have lunch, enjoy hand-dipped ice cream, shop at our flea market and bake sale, browse among the antiques, and reminisce with your former classmates,” said a spokesperson. David Clanagan will provide gospel music.
Story hour to begin
The Rappahannock County Library’s Story Hour for pre-school children, ages 2-6 will start Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 10:30 a.m. and continue every Wednesday through the remainder of the year.
The program of songs, finger-plays and a story will last about 30 minutes. Children will need to be accompanied by an adult, but no pre-registration is necessary.
Norman reunion scheduled
The annual Norman reunion will be held on Sunday, Aug. 31 at the Rappahannock Recreation Park on U.S. 211 in Washington. A picnic lunch will be served at the pavilion at 1 p.m., rain or shine. All relatives and friends are invited and are asked to bring a covered dish and beverage. “ Hope to see you there,” said a spokesperson.
Bingo scheduled
The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will have their regularly scheduled bingo on Monday, Sept. 1, Labor Day. Bingo will start at 6:45 p.m. For more information call Sheila Scott at 937-4357.
