Belated wedding wishes go out to Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Tharp who observed their day on Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Gregg Heflin, Michael, Crystal and Jacob spent the weekend in Roanoke visiting Mr. Heflin’s relatives.
According to a spokesperson the Singing and Pickin Party at Salem Fire Hall on Friday evening had a good turn out and very enjoyable to all present.
Adult education classes will be held again at Rappahannock County Schools beginning on Sept. 15 and should any of our area people be interested, call Jeanie Dwyer at the School Board Office, 987-8773.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Peregory, Joseph and Jennifer of Castleton Ford Road dined at Country Cookin in Warrenton on Sunday. Jennifer is spending several days this week with Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Bragg and family.
We would like to wish Mrs. Ruth Peregory a happy birthday, her day is Labor Day.
Mr. and Mrs. Shelvy Frazier and his sister Mrs. Alvin Atkins of Sperryville were shoppers in Fredericksburg on Saturday and en route home were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Burke in Rochelle. Mrs. Atkins remained overnight with her brother and wife.
Miss Kylene Wolfe left Thursday to enter her freshman year at V.P.I. in Blacksburg and one of her close friends, Miss Angela Atkins of Sperryville left Friday for the same college, where their classes began on Monday.
Descendants of the late Rev. and Mrs. W.B. Dennis, former residents here held their family reunion on Sunday in Madison.
The Salem Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad continues to thank all persons who help to make their recent car show a great success. This was the biggest and best show so far and we hope this trend continues. Again, we are unable to thank each one separately so a great big thank you to all.
Come Tuesday, school bells will be ringing and yellow buses rolling, so everyone please be careful, as young people begin another and some first years of education.
