Parents, if your children must be left alone after school consider these questions: Are your children old enough and mature enough to care for themselves? Do they know basic safety rules? Do you know the three “W’s”: Where your kids are, What they’re doing, and Who they’re with?
Can your children:
Easily use the telephone, locks and kitchen appliances?
Follow rules and instructions well?
Handle unexpected situations without panicking?
Stay alone without being afraid?
Bus stop safety tips:
Arrive on time for the bus.
No horseplay at the bus stop, someone may get hurt.
If possible, have a parent supervise the bus stop until the bus arrives.
Do not ride with strangers
If you ride your bike to the bus stop always wear your helmet.
