Last week, Joseph Bedford Reid was tried in Circuit Court for possession of PCP and speeding on Jan. 18 on U.S. 211. He waved his right to a jury trial.
Trooper M.C. Woodard of the Virginia State Police, who testified in court, said that he was on patrol when Mr. Reid went by him at 72 mph headed east on U.S. 211. Trooper Woodard turned around to pursue him but Mr. Reid had disappeared.
Trooper Woodard continued to look for him and found him on Route 640. He stopped Mr. Reid who told the trooper that “it wasn’t me you saw speeding.” Trooper Woodard
