• A revised resolution was passed closing Route 612 near Sperryville for bridge repair. The closure was originally scheduled for June 14,. However, due to delays in hawing materials really, Route 612 closed July 12.
• The board unanimously approved a resolution encouraging VDOT to close Main Street in Sperryville, Route 1001 from the flashing lights to U.S. 211 West, to through trucks. This has widespread support from residents and business owners in Sperryville, as trucks speeding through their village has proven to be a major hazard. '
• Tom Tepper was appointed to fill the StonewallHawthome District seat on the county Planning Commission. This seat had previously been held by Sharon Pierce.
• Daniel Keyser was appointed to another term on the Water and Sewer Authority. His current term expires July 31.
• Eileen Day and John Norman were appointed to new terms on the Rappahannock County Recreational Facilities Authority. Their previous terms ended June 30.
• Action on the Harris Country Inn was tabled until September, at the request of Ms. Elizabeth Harris and the concurrence of the board.
• Dr. Marilyn Beck of Lord Fairfax Community College has invited the supervisors to a tour of the campus. McCarthy will schedule a date.
The next county Board of Supervisors meeting is scheduled for Aug. 2.
