Make plans to attend the Culpeper/Madison/Rappahan nock’s 50th Anniversary Farm Show on July 21-26. This tricounty event highlights exhibits from their 4-H participants. There will be»a special anniversary ceremony to honor past exhibitors. Farm Show catalogs are available at area co-ops, extension offices, and local stores.
If you haven’t had a chance to slide into “Cooter’s” in Sperryville, you’re missing a lot of nostalgia. Ben Jones, who played Cooter on the “Dukes of Hazzard” television show, and his wife, Alma, are super nice people who go out of their way to make you feel at home in their store.
They even show “Dukes” videos on TV while you browse (Waylon Jennings still sounds as if he is having a good ole time singing the theme song and narrating the show). I hope Mr. Jones lets me know when Bo and Luke plan a visit.
Please remember to keep fresh water out for your pets during the hot summer days and don’t leave them unattended in a closed vehicle.
