Christopher Thomas Hitt, 35, of Castleton lost his life in an automobile accident during the late night hours of July 9. Hitt lost control of his 1986 Toyota SR-5 pickup on Route 640, just north of Route 729, struck a tree and overturned.

Hitt was pronounced dead at the scene. State Police believe alcohol may have been involved. Hitt was not wearing a seat belt when the accident occurred. Intoxication arrest

During the overnightyearly morning hours of July 10, a resident complained of three drunk individuals in front of the store in Chester Gap. Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Deputy Andy Berry responded to the scene, and made three arrests.

George Knave Jr., 33 was charged with drunk in public. Aaron Morris, 27, was charged with drunk in public and possession of marijuana.
