Holiday closings
All Rappahannock County government offices, the Rappahannock County Library, the Rappahannock National Bank, F&M Bank in Flint Hill, county schools and the Rappahannock News will be closed on Monday, Sept. 6 in observance of Labor Day.
Association to meet
The time is now to get involved and meet your neighbors! If you care about the Amissville community, and live in or around the village, please plan to attend the next meeting of the Amissville Area Community Association on Thursday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Amissville United Methodist Church.
Meeting, picnic
scheduled Sept. 11
New members are invited to attend the Rappahannock Historical Society’s annual membership meeting and picnic on Saturday, Sept. 11 on the lawn of the Middleton Inn on Main Street in Washington. Festivities begin with a social hour at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 6 p.m.
Dues ($15 singles and $20 family) may be paid at the door. Please bring a covered dish (vegetables, salad or dessert). The main dish will be provided by the Middleton Inn. After dinner, there will be a business meeting to elect new officers and a progress report on the proposed building addition.
