Seven young men from Rappahannock County were part of the Culpeper Comets travelling soccer teams that recently competed in Norway, getting their first exposure to international soccer.
The Comets sent two teams to Norway. Rappahannock High School players Steven and Shawn Torrance, Frank Paratore, Adam Rogers, Matt Wolfe and Ryland Pace were all part of the U-18 team. Michael Fairbrother from Rappahannock County played on the U-15 squad.
The teams went on a 12 day trip. Their first stop was Oslo. They played Asker in what is known as a “friendly”, or exhibition, match. Asker, according to Comets Coach Tim Kearney, is similar to his squad in that it has a number of different teams. The U-18 team tied their match 1-1. The U-15 squad came up on
