Upon arriving at the scene, Deputy Roger Jenkins arrested 36 year-old Edward D. Hewitt of Virginia Beach, Va. and charged him with drunk in public.
Another intoxication arrest occurred shortly before 11 p.m. on Aug. 28. Joseph Kelly, 42, of Culpeper, was apprehended by Deputy J.C. Welch on U.S. 211 near Sperryville and charged with driving while intoxicated.

Two people, whose names are being withheld, trespassed onto private property in the 600 block of Keyser Run Road and did damage to the property with the vehicle they were driving. Warrants have been issued for the subjects, who have reimbursed the resident for the damage, and they are to appear in court on charges of criminal trespassing.
