We request a commitment of one morning or afternoon per week, but will gladly make adjustments if you are willing to help out. Most importantly, you do not have to be a parent to volunteer, we are an “equal opportunity-volunteer loving” school system. The RCES PTO is up and running. President Jimmy Swindler reported that the plant sale and soft drink sale held on Meet Your Teacher night was a huge success and a great way to kick off the school year. There are many PTO activities planned for this year and we hope that many of you will be able to attend meetings and participate. Stay tuned for the meeting schedule and for information on the major fund raiser of the year which will take place this fall.
The first RCES PTO meeting of the year will be a Pot Luck Dinner Meeting on Sept. 10 at the Rappahannock Park in Washington. PTO will provide chicken. Bring your drinks of choice and a side dish. Dinner will be at 6, meeting will begin

This year we have a full fledged, unto itself, honest to goodness, Middle School Program for our sixth, seventh and eighth graders. Mr. Richard Smith is over-seeing this program and the teachers are all very enthusiastic about working closely together to make this program a success.
